SONiVOX RELEASES BIG BANG CINEMATIC PERCUSSION 2.0
New capabilities highlight the 2.0 releaseof this popular epic percussion instrument
Somerville, MA (June 27, 2013)—SONiVOX, a leading creator of premium virtual
instruments and synthesis technologies, has released Big Bang Cinematic Percussion
2.0, the latest version of their expansive percussion instrument. New features in Version
2.0 include an integrated patch browser, new patches, plus 64-bit VST and AU support.
This superior collection brings massive, awe-inspiring percussion suitable for film and
television scoring to every desktop musician, allowing composers, producers, and performers
to benefit from an abundance of sounds, powerful controls, and unmatched playability. Big
Bang Cinematic Percussion 2.0 contains over 12 GB of premium content, including over 200
percussion instruments painstakingly created by top SONiVOX sound designers. All
programs were meticulously sampled at multiple velocities, with multiple hits being triggered
in a round-robin style for the pinnacle of realism and authenticity.
Bang Cinematic Percussion 2.0 uses the SONiVOX Intelligent Rhythm Control (IRC) to
capture the performer’s inspired moments while applying user-defined rhythmic feel and
timing in real-time, as notes are played, eliminating the need for further editing after the fact.
In addition, the stereo delay allows either the Left or Right channel—or both—to be
synchronized to beat values of the current tempo, tying the sound, song, and effects together.
The convenient Note Repeat function retriggers any sound at a pre-selected beat/tempo
value for as long as the pad, key, or trigger is held down, making it easy for any player to
build up complex parts quickly.
“Big Bang Cinematic Percussion 2.0 is the sister to our Big Bang Ultimate Drums collection,”
according to Jason Jordan, Head of Soundware at SONiVOX. “Moving beyond the
familiar drum set, Big Bang Cinematic Percussion 2.0 opens up a world or percussion
instruments of great use to the composer, producer, and individual performer. We’ve
added new sounds and a new browser to find them quickly, as well 64-bit VST and AU
support.”
Big Bang Cinematic Percussion 2.0 offers a new integrated browser that makes it easy to
find, sort, and view exactly the right sound. Patches are categorized into Genre, Scene,
Class—and of course, Name—allow sounds to be viewed and recalled in a musically
meaningful way. All sounds can be individually shaped by the player, allowing for custom
control. Pitch, dynamics, pan, and filter controls are all readily available. Multiple output
busses allow the EQ and Delay routing to be quickly configured for multi-track recording or
multi-channel outputs.
In addition to the onscreen controls, MIDI Learn Mode is provided, allowing Big Bang
Cinematic Percussion 2.0 to quickly integrate with any MIDI keyboard, electronic drum set,
MPC, or pad controller. Additionally, Big Bang Cinematic Percussion 2.0 can save and recall
MIDI Learn presets and use them with any patch, so they need only be created once.
In addition to RTAS compatibility, SONiVOX Big Bang Cinematic Percussion 2.0 now
supports 32- or 64-bit AU and VST formats. Big Bang Cinematic Percussion 2.0 can be
purchased now at sonivoxmi.com for $99.99 (USD). Current Big Bang Cinematic
