The Guqin is a seven-stringed instrument that originated in China over 3,000 years ago. It has an incredibly pure, sonorous tone quality well-suited for melodies and pad textures. In ancient times, it was typically used to create a feeling of spiritual aesthetics during ritual ceremonies. Composers created uplifting songs that greatly enhanced celebratory events and complemented poetry performances.
Confucius, the famous Chinese philosopher mastered the Guqin and stated that it was his favorite instrument. It was even used to accompany presentations on Confucius ideals, enchanting the audience with beautiful music and brilliant wisdom.
Still in use today, the Guqin appears on screen in movies and is featured on famous albums, film-scores and soundtracks. SONiVOX has captured the grace and elegance of the sacred Guqin and put it into an easily playable DVI. |
